About us
Hi, I'm Jonathan Blake.
I started Home Pros Ohio so homeowners could walk into any home project knowing the numbers, the scope and the right questions to ask, and find a local pro they can trust without wading through national lead-selling sites.
I'm a family man, and I try to treat every homeowner the way I'd want my own family treated.
Experience in the trades
- Five years in home exterior account management, helping hundreds of families plan roofing, siding and window projects.
- Eight years owning a tree service business, so I know what it's like to run a small local company.
- Hands-on experience in lawn maintenance and hardscaping.
- Founder of Midwest Roof Calculators, free planning tools for Ohio and Michigan homeowners.
What Home Pros Ohio is
A local directory of 1,967 home service businesses across 29 trades in 63 Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan communities, plus free cost guides, calculators and checklists. Home Pros Ohio is operated by Jonathan Blake LLC DBA The Lead Venture, based in Canton, Ohio.
How we work
Show the math
Every calculator shows its assumptions, and every cost guide names its sources and review date.
Label what's paid
Featured and Sponsored listings are paid placements, and we disclose any connection to a recommended business.
Scores you can't buy
The Home Pros Score is built from public reviews and years in business. Paid plans don't change it.
Local first
We focus on Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, where we live and work, instead of trying to cover the whole country.
Disclosure
Outside of Home Pros Ohio, I work for a roofing and home exterior company that serves Ohio and Michigan, Integrity Home Exteriors, which appears on this site as a preferred partner. That relationship is disclosed wherever Integrity is recommended. Always compare several contractors and get written quotes.
