How the pest risk score works
Active signs (droppings, nests, constant insects) and possible termite damage weigh the most. Entry points, moisture and wood against the house add risk because they attract and shelter pests. Scores up to 25 are low risk, 26 to 55 moderate and above 55 high.
Frequently asked questions
What pests are most common in Ohio homes?
Mice, ants, spiders, stink bugs, boxelder bugs and, in some areas, termites and bed bugs. Rodents move indoors in the fall as temperatures drop.
Do I need a pro or can I DIY?
Sealing gaps and removing food and water sources goes a long way. Call a licensed pro for termites, bed bugs, stinging insects or any infestation that keeps coming back.
Are Ohio pest control companies licensed?
Yes. Commercial pesticide applicators must be licensed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Ask for the license number.
