How the roof health score works
Each answer adds points based on how strongly it predicts a failing roof. Age and active leaks weigh the most, followed by missing shingles, sagging and heavy granule loss. Scores up to 25 suggest a healthy roof, 26 to 55 mean you should book an inspection or repair, and above 55 usually means it's time to price a replacement.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a roof last in Ohio?
Asphalt shingle roofs typically last 18 to 25 years in Ohio. Freeze-thaw cycles, hail and summer heat can shorten that.
What are signs I need a new roof?
Curling or missing shingles, lots of granules in the gutters, daylight in the attic, sagging, or repeated leaks all point toward replacement rather than repair.
Will insurance pay for my roof after a storm?
Often, if hail or wind caused the damage and you file promptly. Have a roofer document the damage before you call your insurer.
